These terms apply to the application described at URE Health Sync.

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of URE Health Sync (“the Application”), a personal, patient-facing software tool that retrieves an individual’s own electronic health information from healthcare providers via standards-based FHIR APIs, with the individual’s explicit authorization.

2. Nature of the Application

The Application is a personal data-retrieval and synchronization tool. It is operated by and for the individual user, on infrastructure under that user’s control. It is not a covered entity or business associate under HIPAA; records retrieved by the Application leave the provider’s HIPAA-covered environment and are thereafter protected by the user’s own safeguards.

3. Authorization and revocation

Access to health information is granted exclusively by the user authenticating with their healthcare provider’s patient portal credentials and consenting on the provider’s consent screen. Access is read-only. The user may revoke the Application’s access at any time through their provider’s patient portal, and revocation takes effect at the provider’s authorization server.

4. Data handling

Retrieved data is stored locally on systems controlled by the user. The Application does not transmit health information to third parties, does not sell or share data, and does not use data for advertising, marketing, or analytics. The ure.us website itself collects no analytics; see the privacy page.

5. No medical advice

The Application retrieves and displays health records as provided by healthcare organizations. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Questions about the content of a medical record belong with the healthcare provider that produced it.

6. Accuracy and availability

Health information is presented as returned by provider systems. Completeness depends on each provider’s implementation, data-release policies, and system go-live history. The Application is provided “as is,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Availability of provider APIs is outside the Application’s control.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Application’s operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Application, including reliance on retrieved records or unavailability of provider systems.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA.
